Williams Community Responds to Incident

An incident of graffiti in Dennett House over Thanksgiving Break has prompted response from many Williams quarters. In a message to the campus community, Dean of the College Karen Merrill and Interim President Bill Wagner expressed strong support of student efforts to end “all behaviors aimed at intimidating or targeting people because of their gender, sexual identity, or gender expression and to build a community that welcomes and supports all.” For more about the incident and larger concerns see the student site here. Alumni who would like ongoing updates on issues of gender and sexuality on campus are welcome to subscribe to the Williams College Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Alumni (BiGLATA) organization’s list server by e-mailing subscriptions@alumni.williams.edu.
