KIMBERLY ELICKER '09 NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED FOR GENETIC RESEARCH
Junior Kimberly Elicker received the prestigious undergraduate student poster presentation award at the annual meeting of the Society of Experimental Biologists. Elicker's research with Lara Hutson, assistant professor of biology, was published in the November edition of the journal "Gene."

PROF. ALI'S DRAWINGS TRAVEL TO UNIVERSITY MUSEUMS
The exhibition "Laylah Ali: Drawings from the Typology Series" presents 23 ink drawings by Laylah Ali '90, associate professor of art. The show, first exhibited in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, is at the University of Iowa Museum of Art until Jan. 6, 2008, and will travel to the University of Arizona, for exhibit from Jan. 31 through March 23.

PROF. MUTONGI'S "WORRIES OF THE HEART" PRESENTS PERSPECTIVE ON KENYAN HISTORY
Associate Professor of History Kenda Mutongi is the author of a new book titled "Worries of the Heart: Widows, Family, and Community in Kenya." A specialist in East Africa, urban history, and transport history and culture, Mutongi grew up in Maragoli, a small village in Western Kenya. In her book, she returns to Maragoli to understand how British rule, and then Kenyan independence, shaped people's lives.

Plans are underway for the fourth Alumni Ski Week in fantastic Sun Valley, Idaho, from March 15-22, 2008. This trip always draws alumni, family, and friends of all ages and abilities, and once again includes free skiing and lodging for kids.  New for 2008 will be a "Williams Roadscholars in the Rockies" program featuring lectures and discussions with guest faculty Bud Wobus, Prof. of Geosciences, and Chip Lovett, Prof. of Chemistry.
