He noted that $161 million in early commitments had already been secured. Pieces of the campaign’s strategic plan, formulated collaboratively among administrators, faculty, and students over a three-year period, already have been put into place. Ø SEE http://www.williams.edu/admin/news/releases/03090401.html williams gets top rating from u.s. news & world report Williams ranks number one among liberal arts colleges, according to this year’s U.S. News & World Report. While continuing to be skeptical of anyone’s ability to rank colleges so closely, Williams is pleased to stand among the very top liberal arts colleges in the country. (Since the magazine began ranking colleges in 1983, Williams has never placed lower than third overall and has placed first for the past 13 years in academic reputation.) This year’s hiring of 30 additional professors and a renewed commitment to our highly successful tutorial program were deciding factors in our gaining the top slot.
