A record-breaking 3,000 people (alumni, spouses, partners, kids, grandkids, various others) joined in the June 7-10 festivities. At the 185th Annual Meeting of the Society of Alumni, awards for outstanding service and accomplishment were made and new alumni leaders were elected.

MARC GOTLIEB TO LEAD GRADUATE ART HISTORY PROGRAM
Williams has named Marc Gotlieb to succeed Mark Haxthausen as the Class of 1955 Memorial Professor of Art and director of the Graduate Program in Art History.

Four secondary school teachers, nominated by the graduating Williams seniors they inspired, received Olmsted prizes at Commencement.

JULIA SENDOR '08 WINS UDALL SCHOLARSHIP FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
The Morris K. Udall Foundation awarded a $5,000 scholarship to junior Julia Sendor for "her dedicated commitment to impacting environmental research and public policy on a national and international scale." Julia was one of 80 students nationwide to win the award.

SARAH FINK '08 AND ERIKA WILLIAMS '08 WIN GOLDWATER SCHOLARSHIPS
Sarah and Erika have been named 2007 Goldwater Scholars for their outstanding research in the natural sciences. The two are among 317 recipients selected from over 1,110 American students of mathematics, science, and engineering who intend to pursue doctorates in these fields.

NEVER TOO EARLY TO THINK SNOW
Plans are underway for the fourth Alumni Ski Week in fantastic Sun Valley, Idaho, from March 15-22, 2008. This trip always draws alumni, family, and friends of all ages and abilities and once again includes free skiing and lodging for kids.  New for 2008 will be a "Williams RoadScholars in the Rockies" program with guest faculty lectures and discussions. COLLEGE ADVISING AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN OF ALUMNI
From June 4 through November 2, 2007, sons and daughters of alumni who have completed their high school junior year or are now high school seniors may meet with a senior admission officer for an early evaluation of their credentials. To schedule, your child should call the Office of Admission at 413-597-2214. IMPORTANT: Be sure to identify yourself as an alumni daughter or son. When you visit Williams, bring a copy of your most recent (unofficial) transcript and any test scores. If you visit while the college is in session, plan to join a campus tour, attend a group information session, and attend classes.
