REUNION WRAP-UP
Almost 3000 people (alumni, spouses, partners, kids, grandkids, various others) joined in the June 8-11 festivities. At the 184th Annual Meeting of the Society of Alumni, awards for outstanding service and accomplishment were made and new alumni leaders were elected.

Jean Henderson Tibbetts '75 was elected to a three-year term as an alumni administrator of the Tyng Bequest scholarship program.

TRUSTEES SET POLICY ON SUDAN DIVESTMENT
The College's Advisory Committee on Shareholder Responsibilities, together with the Board of Trustees, have passed a resolution regarding College investments in companies that have been determined to be supporting the government of Sudan's actions in Darfur.

'62 CENTER FOR THEATRE AND DANCE WINS DESIGN AWARD
The new '62 Center for Theatre and Dance is one of 11 structural steel building projects that have earned national recognition in the 2006 Innovative Design in Engineering and Architecture with Structural Steel awards program (IDEAS2), conducted annually by the American Institute of Steel Construction.

FRANK OAKLEY HONORED BY UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME
Former Williams President and Edward Dorr Griffin Professor of the History of Ideas, emeritus Francis C. Oakley received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Notre Dame during the university's commencement May 21.

Five secondary school teachers, nominated by the graduating Williams seniors they inspired, are profiled here. Winners receive $3,000, while winning teachers' schools receive $2,500.

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund has announced its award of a 2006 Teaching Fellowship for Aspiring Teachers of Color to junior Marlena Elmore.

The National Science Foundation recently announced its 2006 Graduate Research Fellows, naming four Williams fellowship winners and 16 honorable mentions.

BRIDGE DEDICATED TO MEMORY OF BOB QUAY '04
On May 31, the Williams Outing Club held a dedication ceremony for the Robert Ikemori Quay Bridge, located on the western slope of Mt. Greylock. Quay, who was killed in a bicycling accident two years ago, helped lay the foundation for the bridge shortly before his death.

COLLEGE ADVISING AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN OF ALUMNI
From 1 June through 17 November 2006, sons and daughters of alumni who are rising seniors or seniors may meet with a senior admission officer for an early evaluation of their credentials. To schedule, call the Office of Admission at 413-597-2214. Important: Be sure to identify yourself as an alumni daughter or son. When you visit Williams, bring a copy of your most recent (unofficial) transcript and any test scores and, if you visit while the college is in session, plan to join a campus tour, attend a group information session, and attend classes.

MOO SAID PURPLE COWS AREN'T JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE?
After much success in major international cities, the famous "Cow Parade" heads to Paris for its French debut. This cultural exhibition of contemporary art assembles 150 life-size cow sculptures, with the most beautiful of the Paris parade works being auctioned off. This year, 100% of profits will go to the Africa Alive Foundation.
