Ed Burger Takes the Professorial Cake

Campus Unites to Support Haiti Relief Efforts

Update on Williams Finances

In a January 31 update, Interim President Bill Wagner reported on the College's latest responses to the global economic crisis, which includes a further delay of two construction projects and the offer of retirement incentives for faculty and staff. Williams will also reinstate modest loan expectations for some financial aid students, beginning with those who enter in the fall of 2011. Dartmouth has since announced that it also will reinstitute loans. Read on.

First-Gen, First-Year
Lysa Vola '13, adopted at age 5 along with five of her siblings in Jensen Beach, Fla., now attends Williams and hopes to become a pediatrician. Follow her blog.



ED Admits
Williams College has accepted 216 of 533 applicants for its Early Decision program. The 216 accepted students represent 39 percent of the total number of students projected for the Class of 2014. This Early Decision pool represents a slightly smaller proportion of the class than in recent years... Read on.

The second Robert L. Financial Aid Changes Don't Affect Current Students
As one of many efforts to contain costs in tough times, Williams will re-institute loan expectations for some aided students, beginning with the Class of 2015. These changes will not affect current undergraduates, nor those who enter in September 2010. For details on this and other financial moves by Williams, read on.


Recipes from Home!
For the past 16 years, Williams Dining Services has asked families to submit their favorite recipe for a meat or vegetarian/vegan entrée, vegetable, starch, soup, salad, dressing, bread or dessert. A panel of judges (think "Iron Chef") will test all submissions and select winners, which will be served in the dining halls on Thursday, April 22, 2010, when students will vote for their favorites. Send your own recipe to dining@williams.edu by the March 12 deadline.
